Artist Statement

My practice operates at the convergence of painterly materiality, optical physics, and the lived experience of neurodivergence. Grounded in a background that spans photography, fine art painting, and complex project systems, my work explores the physical and psychological friction of social masking, non-consensus perception, and philosophical perspectivism.

Rather than treating painting and photography as distinct disciplines, I operate a closed-loop optical engine. I construct multi-methodology canvases that bring hard edge geometry, expressive and gestural marks, complex layering and interactions, and facial iconography into active physical dialogue. This canvas captures the rich, un-curated complexity of internal cognitive processing.

I then scale down and photograph these painted environments through physical glass objects using a macro lens, capturing local refractions in a secondary photographic grid. The glass acts as a physical metaphor for the societal filter - bending, compressing, and fragmenting the vibrant internal state into localized refracted snapshots.
